Artist Profile

Jeffrey Malcolm, holding a BA in visual arts from the University of Western Ontario (1994), shifted from a 25-year career in design and brand consultancy to painting since 2020. His consultancy remains operational, catering to clients in North America. Malcolm’s painting style is influenced by his background in design, focusing on landscape and figurative work. His paintings are known for their distinctive brush strokes and use of shape and color, often depicting imaginary landscapes and memories.

Artist Statement

Malcolm’s recent work stems from a 2021 summer trip to Algonquin, Ontario, with his teenage son. This journey highlighted the fleeting nature of time and life’s impermanence, even amidst nature’s tranquility. His son’s transition from boyhood to adulthood symbolized the inevitable loss of innocence and the relentless march of mortality.
