My work develops as a questioning and vindication of painting. Through it, I look for relationships that go between evidence and interpretation, between figuration and abstraction, constantly seeking a balance between concept and matter capable of emotionally affecting the viewer. I am interested in creating images that provoke a certain feeling of discomfort and restlessness in the viewer and that invite them to question the relationship between the content and the theme of the work, with them providing meaning and context through their subjective experiences. of the same. I usually work on topics related to feminism and social issues.
An important part of my artistic process is the selection and construction of the images that I use as references for painting. My work is born from a need to break with the image, which leads me to work from the appropriation of already existing images, images found on the internet that serve as a starting point, which I retouch and decontextualize, looking for new relationships and meanings. , and generating an image different from the original that is outside a certain context or logic.
In my pictorial research, I seek to enhance the characteristics that allude to the intrinsic nature of painting, using a vocabulary that tells us about textures, perspectives, colours, and shapes.
One of my main objectives is to question my work procedures, avoiding the risk of repeating formulas and stylistic conventions. Experiment with new pictorial processes that force me to look for new solutions through new work procedures.
