Danish Shaman; Through The Mist Of Time

The inspiration behind this sculpture comes from an ancient Danish pictograph found in northern Denmark. The pictograph depicts a man transforming into a hawk, and the transformation may be interpreted as a Shaman’s transformation. In front of the sculpture is a bird-man transformation with shamanic elements of spirit animals such as birds and fish in a migratory flight. On the backside of the sculpture, we have a representation of Vikings as handed down through their myths, legends, and images and engaged in their daily chores as they would have been a thousand years ago as they ventured into the new world.
